よくある「梅に鶯」の写真には「目の周りが白い円で囲まれている鳥」がよくいることがありますが、その鳥は「ウグイス」ではなく「メジロ」でありまして、「ウグイス＝鶯」はもっと色の境界がない少々「濃いモスグリーン」の鳥が本当の「ウグイス」であります。しかしこの絵では「わざと」、紅梅のピンク色を表現したかったためそれと対比するには「鶯のモスグリーン」を少々「明るく」してあります。
