参考にしようと「猫の西洋絵画」という本を読みました。何十人もの画家によって様々な猫が描かれていましいたが、恥ずかしながら、初めて知る画家ばかりでした。猫は西洋世界では長らく「悪魔」の使いとして否定的なイメージがあり、主役にはなれなかったのだそうです。今じゃ考えられないですね。

I read a book called "Western painting of cats" to refer to it. Dozens of painters drew various cats, but I'm ashamed to say that they were all the first painters I knew.
