Sometimes I come across illustrations that really awaken that desire to draw, to draw for oneself. Illustratiosn that make me want to copy and study the style of a certain artist. That was the case with this drawing. I drew it last year on a sheet of wax paper, and forget about it. I found the pencil sketch again and I decided to ink and add colors on pen talblet. I just didn't remember the name of the artist who drew the original drawing that I used as a reference. All I knew was that it was an illustration from a children's book that I had found on the internet or that someone had posted on social media. I tried to remember the artist's name. All I knew was that he had a style that was reminiscent of the American James Thurber and also the Frenchman Sempé. I researched and discovered the artist's name, it was the American Shel Silverstein, who wrote and illustrated his own children's books.
