Sipa (lit. Kick or to kick) is a Philippine traditional native game. It has been the national sport of the country up until 2009. Sipa refers to the object being used in the game. It is made of washer with colorful threads attached to it. Also, it can be played using ball of rubber bands.
The sipa is thrown upwards and the player toss it with their foot, the objective of which is never to make it land on the ground. The player counts the number of times they were able to kick the sipa and the one with the highest number of kicks wins the game.
Throughout the years, Filipinos have developed new ways to play the game which includes the use of elbow instead of foot.
Indeed, it's a game that brings back childhood memories.
