AHHHH I finished reading Space Opera (by Catherynne M. Valente) maybe a week ago? And I'm still thinking about it :'D So here's how I pictured one of the main characters, Dess!

Here are my quick thoughts on it(without spoilers!!): Loved the way it was written fast and dirty rather than elegantly, it really helped give the feeling that the characters were real people even though a lot of the sci-fi elements weren't very scientific. I feel like the ending that was thrown in was lackluster just because of all the buildup to it. I give it a 4/5 just because of that, I feel like if there was more time given to the ending I would like it just that much more. Overall it was an amazing read, easily equals a book like Singer Distance imo. (Fyi Singer Distance is a similarly themed book, but very different and written more poetically in a "pretty" sense. Space Opera is a lot harsher in it's poeticness, but I still really like it. It's more unique than what I usually read in sci-fi books.)
