In the sequel, Forgotten Destiny, one of the things Ganondorf comes across is how long he believes he'll live after not only suffering from the malice still left in his body, but also, having an early resurrection. He explains to his 3 out of his 5 minions, Zant, Vaati, and Ghirahim, that he is sure that eventually the malice will take over his mind and body once more and that they are just delay time with the procedures given to him, and though he's enjoying his time with his children, he knows that it will not last forever, leaving him with the idea that to keep them from enduring and seeing the true monster he has trapped inside, he's willing to give up his precious triforce piece, and his life, just for their benefit...
