In 1853 huge American ships sailed in the port of Edo (Tokyo) and forced Japan out of “Sakoku state”.
Other colonial powers followed and Shogun being forced to make deals started to lose power in Japan. In order to return power and close Japan once again, a embassy led by Ikeda Nagaoki was sent to France to negotiate. Before reaching France they would stop in Egypt to relax and learn about the outside world
