Vampires rule the world, with the Vampire Lord of the Bat Clan in charge of all Vampires. This reign has lasted for hundreds of years, but 10 years ago the Vampire Lord mysteriously passed away, leaving no heir. This sparks a Civil War between all the Vampire Clans and their members in hopes of becoming the new Vampire Lord, with Humans as the primary casualties.

A young girl named Hilda meets such a Vampire, Lutz of the Leech Clan, but she will soon find out that his goals are more benign than she was led to believe.
