Antara bin Shaddad Al-Absi was born in the town of Al-Jawa' in Najd (525 AD), and his lineage goes back to Amr bin Shaddad bin Muawiyah bin Qarad bin Makhzum Al-Absi. His father was one of the nobles of Banu Abs, and his mother was Ethiopian, who bequeathed to him her black color, which was the beginning of his suffering, and among his poetry in this regard: If they disgrace my blackness, then I have lineage on the day of battle, if I miss lineage.
