An event gives every human superpowers. Then, they realize they can take other people's powers by killing them. The fights which followed destroyed civilization. People starve and run for safety, form gangs and hunt the weak, and a few insane people with uber-powers rule over the wastelands, creating strange new superhuman cultures.

Our heroes are freaks and weaklings: A paranoid, hyperintelligent mother grieving her lost baby. A ghostly voyeur, who passes through walls and watches everyone. A disloyal escaped convict with the ability to control luck. A woman who brings her childhood imaginary friends to life when she gets angry. And many more. They try to survive, rebuild civilization, avoid getting enslaved by their rulers, and finally: solve the mystery of the Red Day which gave their powers.

This is the story not just of a group, but of a world: of parents trying to control kids more powerful than them, of couples having dates in the sky, and the death of the Earth.
