The 1980's American/Japanese cartoon series Battle of the Planets was the first and last drawing series I saw.
Then came the affordable Video player with the video tapes you could rent in the video store;
Manga was still completely unknown in Europe.
and a cult soon emerged that made Manga films difficult to obtain.
Furthermore, I was inspired by Dutch-language comics and almost all American commercial fantasy and SF films with some manga films: Ghost in the shell and Akira.
