question

im curious to get to know yall more. whats the most horrifying experience youve had in school?

tw// sh--ting scare

mine was when i was in second grade. i remember this so exactly i remember i was wearing a short leather jacket, gray sweatpants and a white t-shirt. i was just sitting down on the cafeteria floor with my bags crammed with my classmates. we were the first ones there, then shit escalated. one of the teachers there with us ran out of the bathroom screaming "lockdown, not a drill!" at least that's what people said but my second grade mind didn't hear it. the next thing i remember was rushing to the bathrooms attached to the cafeteria. we all got into the big stall and i was at the very corner squeezed by everyone else. at one point after what felt like hours, the teacher i was with looked down at her phone and said start moving as a group to the auditoriums. at this point, there were news reporters outside, wonderful. i got up slower than others as i am pretty weak. i somehow got separated from my group and was awkwardly walking around the lobby not knowing what to do. suddenly, the vice principal shows up, sees my sorry ass crying because i thought i was going to die, led me to the auditorium, still separated, separation issues, fun. still crying, got put with the fifth graders, looked at.

wanna know the best part? this was a scare. it was october and some kid from the college across had a belt with fake bullets for halloween and the bathroom security cameras got it and sent a warning for bullets. my parents thought i was dead. my brother who went to that school wasn't with me bc he was still in class and in the middle school at that school, so i thought he was dead.

ive written whole essays on this experience and people still think i was overreactive for crying

  • I didn’t know what “gay” or anything “LGBTQ+”-related was until about two years ago, and that’s when people at my new skl came round to me asking “are you Gay or Straight?” and I didn’t know what it meant, and then they were like “lol you’re gay” and I was like “what is that” and they laughed and ran off, saying “gay, gay, gay” like an insult and I genuinely thought it was some sort of thing like the trend of calling people “shmuk” (which is used as an insult) so my genius self asked my friend “what’s gay” and she looked at me and said “who called you that” and I was like “uhh no one idk” and she *sighed* and said “okay so gay is when you like people of the same sex as you, but it’s also an umbrella term” and I didn’t even know the rest of LGBTQ+ til last year, and until then I thought I was some messed up person because I hadn’t heard of Bi and I thought “bro, God built me wrong” I just wanted to add this to show, like you said, how common this shit is… sorry if I wrote too much—
