ShadeSpot’s Story : 3

Warning!! Animal death ( more specifically cat death ) blood, gore, please do not continue if any of this makes you uncomfortable!!!

~~~
Shadepaw trotted through the forest, his way back to camp.
Sparrowstrike was in front as they walked, and Shadepaw hissed in shock as his mentor stopped, frozen up.
“What’s wrong?…” Shadepaw peered around the gray tom, jaws gaping when he saw what the older cat was staring at.
Frostclaw. Blood streamed from the tom’s throat, running down into the puddle on the ground below him. His jaws were opened, glossy blue eyes staring forwards.
Shadepaw whimpered as Sparrowstrike stumbled towards the body, nudging the Siamese tom as if hoping he were sleeping.
“Starclan…” His mentor whispered, his voice soft with horror.
“We- we need to go get some-“
Before Sparrowstrike could finish,the sound of paws padding through the bushes interrupted.
“Oh, hello-“
The cat cut off, eyes rounding at the sight before it as it let out a shriek.
It was Lavenderswirl, her fluffy gray pelt spiking in shock.
“What happened?” Her voice shook as she padded stiffly over to stand beside Sparrowstrike, who Shadepaw could see was shaking.
Good question. He thought, pelt prickling with shock.
Sparrowstrike shook his head desperately, standing up slowly.
“Let’s- let’s just get him back to camp. Some one there may know something.”
Grief shone in the purple-gray she-cats green eyes as she helped drag her clanmate onto the gray tom’s back.
Shadepaw had faint memories of her and Frostclaw together a lot.
Maybe they had been mates? He couldn’t be sure.
“Shadepaw, come on.” Sparrowstrike looked up, eyes sharp with shock as if he had only just remembered his apprentice was there. Shadepaw nodded, padding forwards on shaky legs.
Sparrowstrike was in the middle, Lavenderswirl in front, Shadepaw in back.
Sparrowstrike had the Siamese tom’s body on his back, carrying him back to camp.
Shadepaw kept his gaze on the ground, unwilling to look up into the hollow eyes of Frostclaw.
~~~

As the cats entered camp, the clan let out shrieks of shock and horror.
Immediately Pinestar rushed over, her tortoiseshell pelt bristling.
“What happened?” The leader demanded, waving her tail to try and quiet the cats around her.
Willowbreeze, a black and brown patched she-cat hurried forwards to help lower Frostclaw’s body onto the ground, letting it fall with a gentle thump.
Lavenderswirl stumbled over to lay beside her fallen mate, her nose buried in his scruff as she wailed.
Sparrowstrike shook his head as he stared at his leader.
“We- me and Shadepaw- found him. He was already gone.”
Pinestar nodded, her eyes narrowed with thought. Then her gaze switched to the apprentice, and her brown eyes glowed with worry.
“Are you alright, Shadepaw?”
He nodded his head quickly, trying to stop his limbs from shaking.
“Some cat go get Mintshine!” Pinestar yowled, watching as Wolffang, a smaller, wiry tom obeyed, trotting towards the medicine cat’s den.
When the black cat appeared again, the half-white half-black medicine cat was following, his mismatched eyes round with worry.
He seemed to bite back a wail when he saw his fallen clanmate, padding over to nudge Frostclaw’s limp body.
“Do- do you know what happened?” The multicolored tom whispered, horrified gaze turning on Pinestar, who shook her head.
“No. Sparrowstrike and Shadepaw found him.”
Mintshine nodded, padding over to the two cats to examine them.
“I’ll be right back.” He murmured, then padded back to his den.
When he came back, he was carrying multiple plants with him.
He lightly pawed a large pile away from a small herb.
“Here, some cats can begin licking these into his pelt.”
Some of the cats closer to Frostclaw grabbed up some of the stems.
Shadepaw noticed that Sparrowstrike joined them, licking the scented mint and lavender into Frostclaw’s fur, grooming him and preparing him for Starclan.
Mintshine slowly crouched, nudging Lavenderswirl’s side.
“Here, eat this.” He dropped the last stem at her paws, and she slowly lapped it up.
After he had made sure she had swallowed it all down, the medicine cat came and sniffed Shadepaw.
“Are you alright? Do you need something to calm down?” His mismatched eyes were round, voice soft with worry.
“I don’t think I need anything.” When the medicine cat nodded, Shadepaw swiftly added. “What did you give Lavenderswirl?”
Mintshine flicked an ear at him as he observed the cats grooming their fallen clanmate. “I gave her goatweed. It will help ease her grief.”
Shadepaw felt his jaws part, eyes rounding in shock for a moment. “Plants can do that?” He mewled, voice sharp with surprise.
Despite all that was happening, Mintshine let out a soft purr of amusement.
“Yes, herbs can do that. Now, I would recommend you go get something to eat, and then rest.” The multicolored tom meowed, flicking the apprentice’s side with his tail. Shadepaw nodded his head, padding off towards the prey pile.
He quickly grabbed a squirrel, then headed for the apprentices den.
Inside he ate his meal in quick, neat bites, finishing it quickly.
Once he had eaten, he curled up with his nose under his paws.

Woo!! This one’s a bit longer I think! I also made a drawing for it that I’m going to post!! Poor Frost :(
He and Lavender were mates, I may make a separate short story just for them later (not sure about that tho.)

  • > ✨𝕮𝖆𝖙𝖔𝖗𝖎✨ THANK YOUUUU!!! Also i never even though about that lol, i don’t think they ever do. It’s not that big of a deal tho. And I love your writing!! But thank you again :]

  • It’s great! You’re way better at writing than I am lol events go to quickly. Also, not saying you should change this, but most Warriors books don’t have the breed of cat that a certain cat is. Unless they did, and NOT SAYING YOU SHOULD CHANGE THIS WHATSOEVER it’s amazing

ShadeSpot’s story : 2

He was in the middle of sneaking up on a mouse when his surroundings grew blurry, and he was in the medicine den, sorting through herbs. “Shadepaw, wake up. We’re going out for your first patrol.” He lifted his head groggily, blinking his blurry eyes. He could see the huge form of Sparrowstrike in the den, standing over him. Shadepaw sat up, stretching.
That was such a strange dream! Why was I sorting herbs?
Shadepaw shook his head, clearing his thoughts. Shadowpaw was already out, probably with his mentor. Sparrowstrike patted him with his tail. “Cmon, let’s go.” Shadepaw rolled his eyes. “I’m coming!” He snapped, then realized he maybe shouldn’t do that, since Sparrowstrike could easily have him stay in camp. Sparrowstrike didn’t seem to care, just turning and leaving the den, flicking his tail for Shadepaw to follow. Shadepaw trotted after him, tail lifting happily. At least he wasn’t mad. They walked out of camp, Sparrowstrike waving his tail at the cat guarding camp, Fawnfluff. The reddish-brown she-cat acknowledged him with a nod. Sparrowstrike continued for a bit, halting when the came to a clearing. “Show me your hunters crouch.” He ordered, flicking his tail at Shadepaw. Immediately Shadepaw crouched down, flicking his tail to his side and turning his head to watch his mentor. Sparrowstrike walked around him in a circle, inspecting how his crouch looked. “Draw your hind legs underneath your belly, that way you have more power in your leap.” Shadepaw squeezed his hind legs closer together, and Sparrowstrike nodded. “That’s great. Now, time to test it on some real prey.” Shadepaw bounced back up onto his paws, eyes rounded in excitement. Sparrowstrike led the way, padding through the pine forest.
They walked for what felt like forever before they finally stopped.
Sparrowstrike turned to face Shadepaw, who blinked up at the silver tabby.
“Do you smell anything?” Shadepaw opened his muzzle to taste the air, nodding slowly. “Mouse?” He whispered, looking up as his mentor nodded. “Very good.”
Shadepaw began tracking the creature, listening when his mentor instructed him how to set his paws down quietly.
As Shadepaw crept forward he spotted the small animal, nibbling on a seed, completely unaware that he was there.

Perfect.

The gray tom padded towards it, leaping once he felt it had been long enough.
When he lifted his head, the creature hung from his jaws.
“Great job!” Sparrowstrike’s mew came from behind him, green eyes glowing with pride.
“That was nearly perfect, but I need to show you some things to improve on.”
Shadepaw bit back a groan of annoyance at Sparrowstrike’s words.

This one’s a bit better!! I started spacing out some things so it didn’t look so cramped.
I hope you guys like this part!! The next one gets… interesting.

Warriors does not belong to me! I only own the characters!!

ShadeSpot’s Story: 1

Shadekit trotted in circles around the nursery, his mother Cloudstream keeping a close eye on him. “Today I’ll be an apprentice!” He purred happily. His mother pulled him close, lapping at his fur to remove the dirt and plants on it. “Yes, and you must look your absolute best.” She mewed briskly. “Do you know who my mentor will be?” Shadekit pulled away again to turn and look at the light gray she-cat. She nodded, grabbing him again to clean his fur. “Can you tell me? I won’t tell anyone, I swear!” His desperate meow echoed in the den. “No, you’ll see, soon enough.” Shadekit let out a small hiss of annoyance and rolled his eyes. Then his ears perked up and he turned to look at his mother again. “Can I go sit outside and wait?” He rounded his eyes hopefully. “I’ll be good!” Cloudstream nodded, getting up to her paws. “I’ll go with you.” With that she flicked her tail and padded out, Shadekit following close behind. Once outside, Cloudstream sat and began to clean her own fluffy pelt with brisk strokes of her tongue, while Shadekit padded around in circles again, ready to start his apprenticeship. His tail lifted when he heard Pinestar’s yowl to gather the clan. Shadekit raced over, his mother close behind trying to fix his messy fur again. He skidded to a stop at the bottom of his leaders rock, staring up at her. She gave him a warm glance, then directed her attention to all the cats gathering around the rock. “Today I gather you for one of my favorite ceremonies. Today, Shadekit,” She flicked her tail down at him. “Is going to be made an apprentice.”
Cloudstream took a step back so the clan could pay attention. “Sparrowstrike, step forward.” The powerful gray and white tabby stepped forwards, his gaze directed at his leader. “Sparrowstrike, do you promise to teach this apprentice all you know and how to uphold the warrior code?” Pinestar mewed. “Yes, Pinestar.” Sparrowstrike’s meow was solemn and he dipped his head when he finished speaking. “Shadekit, from this day until you have earned your warrior name you will be known as Shadepaw.” Shadepaw stepped up to touch noses with his mentor happily. Once they had finished Pinestar dismissed the clan and layer down on the rock to watch the clan go about their day. Shadepaw looked up at Sparrowstrike. “When do we go hunting?” He mewed curiously. “Tomorrow morning I’ll wake you when it’s time to go out.” The large tom answered. Shadepaw nodded, not really satisfied but he didn’t get much of a choice, so he just turned to go to the apprentice den to make himself a nest for tonight. Once he’d finished the quite boring task, he padded out to go find some prey to eat before bed. He could see a Shadowclan warrior, Otterfur. She was sharing some prey with Frostclaw, a blue Siamese tom. Shadepaw went over and grabbed a mouse and walked over to sit beside his mother who was eating a thrush. He sat down, biting into his meal. He felt a paw prod his back and turned around. “Oh, hey Shadowpaw.” His friend had been made an apprentice a few days before him, coming back to tell him about patrols daily. The black tom flopped down beside him. He yawned and stretched his fore paws out, flexing his claws. “So, when are you gonna leave camp?” Shadowpaw’s mew was friendly. Shadepaw rolled his eyes. “Tomorrow. My mentor said it’s to late today.” He added when Shadowpaw gave him a surprised look. Shadowpaw nodded. “Hurry and eat. The faster we sleep, the sooner you can go out.”Shadowpaw gave him another prod. Shadepaw chewed his last bite of mouse quickly, getting to his paws. “Let’s go!” Shadowpaw sprung to his feet beside him. Shadepaw’s friend led the way, bounding across camp with Shadepaw on his tail. Shadowpaw halted quite suddenly, and Shadepaw slammed into him, both young cats rolling to the ground. Shadowpaw smacked at Shadepaw with sheathed claws. “Mouse-brain. Cmon, let’s go sleep.” Shadowpaw got up, shaking out his pelt. Shadepaw did the same, padding into the den. He flopped down into the nest he had chosen earlier, Shadowpaw stretching before laying down in his own nest. “G’night.” Shadepaw heard his friend’s sleepy mew. “Goodnight.” He laid his head down, drifting off. His dreams were pleasant, about things like hunting, playing, and battle training.
