In the year 1990, an enormous explosion occurs at the Nova City Research Facility in Illinois. A powerful radioactive molecule called Alphanium is released into the atmosphere and the radiation spreads across the world. The greatest radioactive meltdown in history becomes known as 'The Calamity'. Thirty years later, a rise in the appearance of super humans occurs worldwide. These beings possess a variety of extraordinary abilities; with some capable of flight and even teleportation. As they spread and integrate into human society these super beings become known as Alphas.
The story follows the adventures of a young boy named Ray who lives in a world filled with super beings called Alphas. In the story, Ray faces many challenges including discrimination, social unrest and terrorist organizations, of both Alphas and humans alike. His is a coming-of-age journey in which Ray strives to bring peace between Alphas and humans, while struggling with his own growing pains.
