Hirohisa Tanaka was born in Chiba Prefecture, Japan in 1975 and graduated from the Department of Japanese Literature at Sophia University. After leaving the Ph.D degree program at Sophia University, taught literature and writing classes at a manga school. In 2009, he established the first manga school in Japan, "IRUQA M.B.A",which trains many professional manga artists as a "class to draw one short manga every three months". In 2019, he served as a part-time instructor at Digital Hollywood University, and from the same year, he also worked as an editor at ICE Inc. In addition, he has published four books on how to draw manga, which have been translated and published for overseas readers. He currently teaches not only in Japan, but also in China, Korea, Taiwan, and Saudi Arabia.
