i watched julie taymor's "across the universe" with a friend on rabbit this weekend. i've seen it before and i have always loved it, the visual metaphors and symbolism are always fun to consider and the main plot is beautiful as well. i don't typically cry while watching movies but this one always does it to me (particularly the "Let it Be" scene agghghag my heart)
what always astounds me is the fact that there is a wholeass beatles-themed musical film and almost nobody has heard of it. if you're a fan of the beatles check it out!! it's sadly underrated.
