"Alongside the monstrous flora it is known for, the Obverse presents some gorgeous specimens. Plants with intricately shaped tendrils, referred to by collectors as 'fretwork vines', have become one of the few natural joys to humans living in neglected lands.
With tendrils coated in a layer of adhesive oil, airborne dust naturally accumulates on their surface and quickly forms a glassy layer. While determined consumers are unfazed by this, the spray of splintered glass shards following the first bite successfully discourages many from taking a second.
Humans avoid handling fretwork vines for similar reasons. However, many of us are hesitant to touch these plants simply because of their intricate shape, maintained only by their glass casing. Some explorers enjoy collecting such vines for decoration, but the vines' fragility makes this a challenge for even the most determined of us."
