I still think the hands are creepy.
Anyways, this is the backstory idea I have, it's not official (yet...?).
Let's just get this out of the way, he is a child.
He's something the a.u/a.t watchers like to call a "Verse traveler".
People like this don't belong to a specific timeline/universe, so they just wander through them, the way they get to another is through a time-slip or a leftover portal someone forgot to close (the time slips pop up more often bc of there interference with the timeline) In this guys instance, he's had to do this his entire life. He's usually terrified of what will happen. When he wants to settle down in a T/U, something happens which makes it where he has to leave. Since this has happened so many times, he trys to not get too attached to people...
