Giorgio Capelli, a friend and Brazilian cartoonist is a fan of Oaky Doaks,a comic strip created by Bill McCleery (writer) and Ralph Fuller (artist). Capelli suggested me a crossover between Oaky Doaks and another Middle Ages knight from the newspaper strips: The Prince Valiant. In Brazil, Oaky Doaks was known as "Teréré", the name of a local drink from Southern Brazil. "Gibi" was the name of a old and now defunct comic book very popular in Brazil during 1940s and 1950s, so popular the word "gibi" turned into a synonym to "comic book".
