Scars can run so deep that they make it hard to believe sincere compliments exist.
We think they're being polite, considerate or trying to not disappoint us... when it's our on pain that blinded us to reality. It rendered us unable to accept good things.
I dare you to actually believe when someone tells you that you're kind, smart, talented, dedicated, capable and pretty.
It may sound presumptuous, but you'll be way happier if you believe you actually deserve to enjoy happiness. Sometimes, we ourselves sabotage our lives.
