It started like a homage to Italian comic book artist Massimo Mattioli (1943-2019) , creator of "Superwest" (a character published in "Heavy Metal Magazine") and ended also as a homage to Akira Toriyama (1955-2024). Yes, it's based on the famous "Sal Buscema's Punch".
