Here I want to represent 3 stages of a woman's journey -- from child to adulthood as a mother and then old age. I used 3 different variation of the Japanese pattern to characterize them and also the confusion/burden of the world in the background; that a woman carries through life. The slanting slope represents the downhill of life from the high to slowing down at the end. The mother looking up at the sky and shading her face from the sun shows hope and resilience.
