• His name is based on Kagu-tsuchi also referred to as Hinokagatsuchi or Homusubi , the god of fire in Japanese mythology.
• Kagu-tsuchi has a fascination of weapons, especially katanas. This is fitting since the real life counterpart was the patron deity of blacksmiths and ceramic workers. He is worshipped in several shrines, one of which is Atago Shrine, near Kyoto.
• His sword, the Twisting Dragon, is quite unique as it is curved like a the shape of a crescent moon. The patterns bear the resemblance of a classic eastern dragon. However, it is unknown how he obtain his weapon
