I wanted to create a sunny landscape that not only depicted how the sun creates light, but also darkness and shadows. There is a famous island just off the coast of where I live that has not only a castle on top of it, but also a stone pathway that is only walkable when the sea tide is out. It's one of my favourite views on Earth and I knew I had to draw it for this contest. With it being, such a medieval landmark, I decided to depict a rider approaching the pathway on his noble steed, basking in the suns glory and the island in its shadow. I hope you all like it and a good luck to everyone who has entered this wonderful contest.
