It was not often the pair was able to leave the homestead and join among their gypsy brethren. It was a breathe of fresh air needed from the pressures hanging like a shroud within the walls of their home.
For Rema, her mother became an entirely different person. It was a wonder how she took her duties to an increasingly estranged husband and admittedly, at times ungrateful child, over where she felt most alive.
