Shailaja is a name that means "daughter of the mountain" in Sanskrit, from शैल (shaila) meaning "mountain" and ज (ja) meaning "born". This is another name of the Hindu goddess Parvati.. (source: www.behindthename.com/name/sha… ). I almost named her Parvati but I like the idea of her being named "daughter of the mountain".
A very old, old OC of mine that I found the reference for and decided to redraw and redesign. Her name was Pyro (I named a lot of my characters that when I was younger, its cringe I know) but I wanted to changer her name to be more fitting to her new character. Before, she was cute and fluffy, but here I want her to be ominous and elegant. Before she was about the size of a wolf, here I want her to be the size of a mountain, towering and powerful, but a gentle giant. Her face is actually a mask she never takes off.
