In Indonesia there's a saying that you should honk your klaxon when passing through a graveyard in the middle of the night. It's basically saying "excuse me, please let us pass this road safely~" to the unseen creatures (ghosts, spirits and the like). If you didn't, they might show themselves to you or worst.. hurt you....
