In the underground of Mt. Ebbott, Russia, there are gemstones. As resources arent plentiful, these treasures are valued even more underground than on the surface. Most gemstones are pure and natural, all more valuable and rare than human gems. Diamonds are rare, and therefore valued more. The monsters based their society around gemstones and diamonds. Currency, architecture, clothing and gifts all revolved around gemstones.
But there is a strange phenomenon, that deep underground, gemstones can be hollow. These hollow gems, or Hollow Diamond (полый алмаз) are full of magic instead of crystal. They are prized and highly revered.
A scientist found a phenomena like this within his own son. The boys bone marrow was missing, replaced by magic which was keeping his soul alive. The mass amounts of magic needed to sustain the boy was too much, and so he was destined to die. Thus the first patient of the Hollow diamond phenomena was born.
And he lived.
