According to the Ashburnham Manuscripts, observation and repetitive practice are the keys to improving artistic skills, which gives me hope as a beginner. I believe that anyone can achieve better skills, at least to a level unaffected by vague factors like talent or natural aptitude. By observing details and repeating the process each time I draw, I trust I can gradually feel my growth—and so I continue to pick up my pencil every day. For now, though, it’s mostly tracing, haha!
