Danza del Venado (Deer Dance) is performed in Sonora and Sinaloa México and in the very far south of Arizona by the Yaquis and Mayos Indians The Yaqui Indians harness a deer in the dance to pay tribute to the deer's everlasting spirit after it's been hunted down, the dance symbolizes the deer's fight against the hunters. Sonora and Sinaloa are the states where all of my family comes from.
