My character - little Timmy - a boy that really likes science and relies on numbers and facts.
One night while reading his new encyclopedia /a gift from his grandma, she buys him one every week from the local book store/ he hears rumbling from one of his room plants.. to his surprise it seems as if he has a guest - a mouse! A tiny mouse with a hat - that's Bobert the mouse but Timmy learns that little detail a bit later.
- I-I am sorry for disturbing you, kind sir, but would it be possible for you to let me live under the leaves of that plant? U-Uhm, a, t-the vase is above the radiator s-so it is really warm a-and..... I can pay you in cheese.. as in paying rent, is that o-okay?

Timmy is way too shocked to think about cheese right now.
Is that mouse really talking? No, no, impossible, science could not have betrayed him like that.

Or maybe this mouse is exactly what he needs? A different view, a different perspective. A perspective of emotions and values?
