She has really long backstory I would rather not put all here, so here is a shortened version:
Her mother was Queen Scarlet's cousin, and her father was an icewing prisoner. Her mother his the egg and the queen found the dragonet just after she hatched. She was about to kill the "abandoned monstrosity" when Oreko's father screamed, begging for mercy on his child. Pedro's mother burst out of the crowd, blasting fire into the greens face and running away with the child. Shortly after Ruby became queen, Oreko's mother died of desease.
