参考にしようと「猫の西洋絵画」という本を読みました。何十人もの画家によって様々な猫が描かれていましいたが、恥ずかしながら、初めて知る画家ばかりでした。猫は西洋世界では長らく「悪魔」の使いとして否定的なイメージがあり、主役にはなれなかったのだそうです。今じゃ考えられないですね。
