I just thought about the last arc of Mob Psycho 100, Mob's crush on Tsubomi, and the accident that unleashed "???", that subconscious being that influenced Mob's feelings towards Tsubomi...
I still haven't found a clear translation of the line 愛情はhighただ捨て置くばかり, (Love is just a high feeling that needs to be thrown away/ Love is just a feeling too high to be thrown away) but I guess any interpretation could suit this situation
