Magdesshire (concept)

Each district within the Magdesshire region is separated by a towering wall, initially built in an attempt to keep the Obverse from mutilating its wildlife. Despite being useless for their intended purpose, more and more walls were constructed to discourage unregistered Brythons - now desperate to escape the encroaching Obverse - from entering the region or its many cities.
Given the recent economic and environmental calamities in the world, these labyrinthine walls have found a new purpose: hiding the slums, abandoned factories, and deserted high streets from tourists, preserving the region's image as one of Bryth's most pristine gems.
The region's capital city Magdes (pronounced 'mag-dess' by its citizens) is referred to as the Crown of Bryth or the city built of stolen gold, depending on who you ask.
