Con la muerte de sus padres, se vió obligado desde pequeño a trabajar como minero en el Distrito Subterráneo de la ciudad Moeris. Su mayor sueño es conocer la superficie, explorar el mundo, y que su hermana ciega sienta por primera vez los rayos de sol bañando su piel.
