Ajatar is an evil female forest spirit in Finnish folklore. She leads foresters and hunters astray. The word “ajatar” is possibly derived from the Finnish word ajattaa, “to pursue". The name may as well have its root in aika 'time'. Aika and ajaa might be etymologically connected through the sense of time, like death, hunting oneself. -Wikipedia
