I drew this axolotl in a nice river background to help spread awareness to our current wild axolotls that are endangered.
Currently their habitats are be destroyed and polluted due to Mexico's expansion in adding more living space. On top of that, axolotls are hunted down as a food source and had larger fish introduced into their rivers that compete and kill axolotls.
The current amount of axolotls in the wild are between 1000 or less that are left. Due to the low amount in population, inbreeding is now common for them which can cause medical problems, mutations, and low immune systems.
I wanted these guys to have a voice on this as they deserve to live and keep their habitats.
