This dress has been modelled by Phantom! She did a very good job I should think :3 sorry if it isn’t urban fantasy enough lol
The flowers on the dress are called bleeding hearts, which exist irl and are super pretty. They are in the scene where Coraline enters her fathers garden for the first time and everything is bioluminescent! There are also stitch marks and mauve buttons of the dress, as in the movie Coraline could choose the colour of the buttons she wanted sown into her eyes (in the book the buttons are always black).
The bodice details in the black pearls and grey thread tendrils are meant to be reminiscent of the lost children’s eyes, and the true form of the other mother (a gross, nasty-ass, spider-looking horror). There are also faded star details at the bottom of the dress, but not the top, as the other world is not only always at night, but if you walk too far into the forest there you end up back at the house, in perpetual upside-down moonlight.
