tbh I like tokyo ghoul more than aot
it's more like "ghouls are among us, they could be anybody, even a close friend"
instead of "titans are eating mankind, we must stop them before we go extinct"
I guess what Im going at is since humans have eaten other animals, it's natural for there to be a living creature (titans) above another (humans) in the food chain
meanwhile ghouls, since they have humanlike traits and emotions and even look identical, it's more emotional than just a simple food chain
I don't hate aot but I get picky when it comes to anime
