"Le Maître chat ou le Chat botté" (Also known as "Puss in Boots") Is a fairytale where an anthropomorphic cat uses deceit and wit to help his poor master marry a princess and gain wealth. The oldest version of the story originated in Italy called "Costantino Fortunato" written by Giovanni Francesco Straparola. Although the more common and well known version of the tale originated in France in the seventeenth century, written by Charles Perrault. Puss in Boots is a popular character, making many different appearances such as the "Shrek" series and it's spin-offs including "Puss in Boots" and "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish." The character is even the logo of the Anime studio Toei Animation, and is a popular pantomime in the UK.
