Jasper and Kahnu are on different sides of the war. Both think they themselves are right and completely disagree with the other. There's no time to play games as Kahnu tries to prevent Jasper from reaching the heart of The Mountains of Misery. He promises to stop Jasper and see his wish come true of using it's magic to alter the human condition in every living person. He made a serious mistake by trusting a demigod of the underworld, who is not evil and is in charge of the land of the afterlife. But though he is not evil, his plan is to free his Father and siblings from their prison that is also in the heart of the Mountains Of Misery, and then destroy the gods that imprisoned them so long ago. They plan to do this by bringing all living things to the afterlife and in doing so deprive the other gods of their life force.
