Gregory Gilbert was a cold young boy compared to the rest of his town. He was the kind of boy to make lemon tea for his toys and himself but not for other people. He dressed proper everyday and stayed out of anything that would get him dirty. His parents often thought there was something wrong with him, mostly from his lack of friends and speaking, but also from his lack of energy and compassion. People told them it was normal for a young boy but they had their doubts. His only known friend was his doll, Raggs, whom he made himself. Gregory brought Raggs everywhere with him in a book bag...which became a problem at school.
School made things worse for Gregory's parents. Kids complained that Gregory creeped them out or they'd find Raggs in their cubbies out of nowhere. Gregory, though, was unfazed by this. He was perfectly happy with himself and what kids thought of him...or at least it seemed like it.
