Deleted scene: flashback, in which little Hiccup finds a baby bird with a broken wing in the woods. He convinces his father Stoick not to kill the bird (for it doesn't suffer). Stoick bandages the wing and tells his son to take care of the bird, feed it, give it water and, when it is cured, let it return to the wild.
