He and this desolate world were one. Black sand fell from his hand, counting time like an hourglass, and filled the land. But nothing ever grew from it. He was alone. Time was his only companion; a seemingly-endless stream of time.
How long did he spend watching the world pass by?
How long did he spend watching the distant tower, the beacon that reached into an endless sky?
How long did he spend watching that tower decay, knowing that its destruction would mean his end as well?
It's over now. The tower is gone. All that remains are ruins and the fading memories of what used to be
