For context the rewritten lore stuff and the art are two different canons with the bridge between the two canons being that the same (Rewritten) Akwuew.MØV is existing in both canons at the same time
The reason it looks like he has horns and ears is because they messed up the process of bringing him back and used yellow molding plastic to cover up the place where his ears fell of and reattached his ears to the back of his head by stitching them back on and using hair dye to cover up the areas that they accidentally damaged in the process along with the stiches.
