I came across the Kelpie legend recently and for a mythological horse I'd never pegged it down for a composite creature.With a seal's chilled fur and a dripping wet mane and tail just gnarled with swamp weeds. . Not many of them are evil but they're not necessarily safe either. This one, Isabelline, is a particularly scrawny filly but I could imagine a Kelpie Yearling unwittingly playing with kids, not knowing what to do with them at all. The minute she sees some water to play in she'll just careen after it. Her rider, glued behind her whithers, screaming all the way. Poor girl would just take a dive unaware of human lung capacity. She's practically a fish to water. Saddest thing is where did her buddy go?
