protect your heart, they will break it.
don’t run, you will fall.
don’t give your trust they will take it for granted.
don’t rush you will make the wrong decision.
rules and fears we’re told and taught … over … and over again
it’s ironic how they tell you they will make your life easier
you will be safer they say, you will be happier they say
funny
they don’t tell u …
that the right thing changes from person, to place, to situation
that it’s after you get your heart broken that you learn what love is not
that it is the scars that you gain from running tumbling and falling that remind you of your ability to heal
that only in giving your trust do you learn to see … not only the bad … but also the promising good in people
that in making the wrong decisions, you meet the version of yourself that you learn you don’t want to become
that it’s alright to rush because you know … this life too will come to an end …
