Italy here is depicted as Pinocchio.

"Le avventure di Pinocchio" (The Adventures of Pinocchio) is a fairytale originating in Italy, written by Carlo Collodi. The story follows the animated puppet Pinocchio and his creator/father Geppetto who is a poor woodcarver.
Although most people probably recognize the story from the Disney film, the story was originally published under the name "La storia di un burattino (The Story of a Puppet)" in the magazine "Giornale per i bambini" which was a magazine popular with children. The magazine started publishing chapters on July 7, 1881 but stopped on chapter 15. By popular demand, the story continued and was eventually published as a full book on February 1883.
Since then it has become a very beloved children's book and has been translated into over 260 languages and has remained one of "the most translated Italian book" and most widely read after the Bible.
