she has vitiligo, and the reason why she goes white is the same reason as michael jackson, who took a bunch of skin medication that eventually bleached her skin white. it's a real condition. ireally dont like the original story for both jeff and nina, however theyre both helf close to me and both are important characters to me, so i thought this approach would be the most realistic. she doesn't do it with racist intent, moreso just that she wants to even her complexion out , and feels self consious- however i almost dont want this, concidering she's so beautiful with vitiligo that i dont want it to go away and might just keep her this way!
